Taking a Caribbean cruise is one of the most common cruises you can take from America! Typically they all leave from Florida, but have different routes which stop at different islands. Here is the route I took to hopefully help you in your decision making process:
Holland America- In my opinion, this is the best cruise line for your money. You get the best food and friendliest staff! A lot of other cruise lines are making some food (like filet mignon or lobster) an added charge, but on Holland America it is actually all inclusive in the price you paid online! It is typically an older crowd, definitely not a party cruise line, but I find it more enjoyable and relaxing!
This was my favorite stop in our Caribbean cruise. (I know it's technically not "the Caribbean" but still!) It is filled with colorful buildings with so much character, beautiful beach views, and old architectural structures like castles and intricate graveyards. The coconut water is so refreshing, and the pina coladas and sangria are the best I've ever had. This stop is definitely a more exploration/walk around port, rather than a lay on the beach and relax, because there is so much to see!
Turks & Caicos
We did a snorkeling tour here and saw some incredible fish and even a baby shark! The water was crystal clear, it was so beautiful. Then we had an amazing opportunity to take a boat out to a remote island and feed/swim with sting rays. It was such a cool experience! We had some time to relax on the beach afterwards and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views.
We explored the city in the morning and found various local markets and places to eat and grab a fresh fruit smoothie! In the afternoon we booked a tour through Holland America where we took a boat out to go snorkel and saw lots of sea turtles! We even saw a shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean. On the boat back, we were given free bottomless rum & punch! I'd definitely recommend this tour.
Holland America owns their own island in the Bahamas called Half Moon Cay island. This by FAR was the most beautiful. The water was the clearest water I have ever seen, and the sand was so white and fluffy. It must be because it is a private island and not really touched by civilization too often. But on this day I wold opt to just relax and enjoy the beautiful beach views as much as possible!
Every night and day the itinerary is completely different, and will vary from cruise to cruise. But they had comedians, magicians, singers, and dancers for each night entertainment show we were there. There's also 2 pools, a casino, library, basketball/tennis courts, and full spa! You can definitely find any activity that suits you on-board.
Their food is incredible. For breakfast they offer fine dining or buffet, which includes omelette station, eggs benedict station, fruits, pancakes, baked goods, and so much more. For lunch they offer the buffet and their burger restaurant located near the pool, which has amazing fries. And for dinner you also have the buffet option, but the fine dining is the place to be! There are so many options, and you can order as many options are you'd like. You want 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 3 desserts? Go for it, it's all included!
